Senior Pastor | Email
Thanks for visiting our website. My name is Brad Brillhart and I’m the lead pastor here at Lowell UMC. I grew up in Grand Rapids graduating from Creston High School (RIP) and Kendall College of Art and Design (yes, I’m one of those weird artists). After college I attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY (and I love Kentucky almost as much as Michigan). I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Julia since July 1993, and we have four awesome kids.
You’re probably wondering why I’m a pastor if I went to college for art. While attending college I became the youth pastor at my father’s church (Fuller Ave. Church of the Nazarene), and while serving the youth there I heard God’s call into pastoral ministry. It runs in the family – my father and both grandfathers were pastors. Since then I have been serving Christ’s Church (the United Methodist Church in particular) as a pastor for over 15 years now. I truly enjoy preaching, teaching, and leading worship (I love singing and playing guitar). But my favorite part of being a pastor is the relationships I get to have with the church family and in the community of Lowell. I also get fired up over Jesus’ challenge for our church community to live out God’s way of forgiveness, service, hope, peace and genuine love here in the city of Lowell with our families, friends, neighbors and even our enemies. Our Church’s vision at Lowell UMC is to DISCOVER, GROW, and SHARE. We are called to DISCOVER God; to GROW in our faith and in our love for God and one another; and to SHARE our lives with each other through Christian community and through mission work with persons in need. I invite you to join with us on this great challenge and adventure at Lowell UMC. Everyone is welcome.
